Punishment Myth
Topic: Lightening
There was a large famine throughout the land.
People were starving and desperate for food.
They acted grumpy and looked emaciated.
God promised them a few days before that he would grant them food if they behaved and waited just a few days longer.
But they did not listen.
Instead, the people began to sneak into each other’s houses late at night.
They would eat each other’s food until there was nothing left in their house.
God was so disappointed in them and how the people would not listen to him.
He then became so angry he created sparks.
He then threw the sparks to the ground.
He would throw them at the very greedy people.
He did not want to kill anybody; he just wanted to teach the people a lesson.
These sparks being thrown at the ground is called lightening.
Thunder is also to be said the angry voice of God.
This was a method to punish the people.
